Justice of the Peace Rubber Stamps Order Now!

Justice of the Peace rubber stamps are specialised self-inking rubber stamps designed to reduce repetitive handwriting when certifying documents. Whether you are witnessing signatures, certifying true copies, or dealing with electronic records, a well-designed stamp saves time while providing a clear, professional impression every time.

The wording required on Justice of the Peace stamps continues to evolve. Different organisations often request specific certification wording for their own requirements, while the increasing use of digital documents has created a need for stamps suitable for certifying emails, websites, text messages and electronic records. As certification practices change, so too do the stamps that support them.

Here at Self Inking Stamps, we specialise in custom-made Justice of the Peace stamps for members throughout New Zealand, whether you’re serving your local community in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin or a smaller regional town. Every JP works a little differently, so we offer solutions to suit your individual needs rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

For your Justice of the Peace rubber stamp we can supply:

  • New custom-made Justice of the Peace stamps
  • Replacement rubber dies to update wording on your existing stamp
  • Replacement ink pads
  • Stamp ink bottles for topping up your stamps
  • Custom layouts to suit your preferred certification wording

New Justice of the Peace Stamps

We stock three leading brands of self-inking stamps, all of which can be customised with your wording.

Trodat is the most commonly requested brand. Manufactured in Austria, it offers an extensive range of models with excellent durability and is often chosen where specialised layouts are required.

Colop, also manufactured in Austria, sits in the middle price range. Some Colop models offer dimensions that can be particularly useful when standard sizes don’t quite fit the wording you require.

Shiny, manufactured in Taiwan, provides outstanding value for money while maintaining excellent quality and durability. They are a popular option for JPs wanting a reliable stamp without paying for premium branding.

Each brand has strengths depending on the layout of your wording.

For example, one common Justice of the Peace layout places two or three full-width lines of text across the top, followed by shorter lines down the left-hand side for details such as your name and a space to handwrite dates or signatures. This larger “L-shaped” design is generally best suited to larger Trodat or Colop models such as the 4926 or 4927. Where writing lines are incorporated into the design, the Shiny S830 is also an excellent option.

As specialists in custom-made stamps, we’re happy to reproduce wording from an existing stamp or create something completely new. If you’ve seen a layout that works well, simply send us a clear image and we’ll recreate it to suit your details.

We also have many popular Justice of the Peace designs already available that simply need personalising with your name and details.

Please browse our Justice of the Peace range below, and don’t forget to check our Legal Stamps section as there may be another design that’s perfectly suited to your work.

Replacement Rubber Dies

Many Justice of the Peace stamps remain mechanically perfect after years of use, but the wording may no longer meet current requirements.

Rather than purchasing an entirely new stamp, you can simply replace the rubber die.

The rubber die is the engraved rubber component that carries your stamp image. We laser engrave new rubber dies complete with mounting adhesive, ready for installation onto your existing stamp body.

Simply peel off your old rubber die, clean the mounting plate, remove the backing from the new die and attach it in place. Your stamp is immediately updated with new wording.

Often it is worthwhile replacing the ink pad at the same time. Over years of use the ink pad develops impressions where the old wording contacts the surface. If your new wording sits in different positions, some areas may not receive sufficient ink, resulting in gaps in the stamped image.

Our Rubber Die & Ink Pad Combo gives you virtually a brand-new stamp at a fraction of the cost of replacing the entire unit.

To identify your stamp model, look for the model number on the front of the stamp body. If it’s not visible there, remove the ink pad and check the moulded number on its underside.

Examples include:

  • Trodat: 4911 (ink pad marked 6/4911)
  • Colop: 20 (ink pad marked E20)
  • Shiny: S830 (ink pad marked S830-7)

Simply type the model number into our website search box to find the correct replacement parts.

Replacement Ink Pads

Self-inking stamps are engineered to produce many thousands of impressions. Eventually the ink supply within the pad is exhausted, causing your stamp to become lighter and harder to read.

Fortunately, replacing the ink pad restores your stamp to near-new performance.

Many customers are still using stamp bodies that are over ten years old. The engineering lasts remarkably well — it is generally only the consumable ink pad that requires replacement.

Our standard stamp inks are water-based and are designed primarily for porous materials such as paper and cardboard, although they also perform well on unfinished timber and similar surfaces.

Again, simply search your stamp model number to locate the correct replacement pad.

Stamp Ink for Justice of the Peace Stamps

If your ink pad is still in good condition but the stamp is becoming slightly lighter, topping up the ink can often extend its useful life.

A small stamp may require only two or three drops of ink, while larger stamps might take six to eight drops.

It’s always best to add less ink than you think you’ll need. Allow around ten minutes for the ink to disperse through the pad before testing. Additional ink can always be added if necessary.

One simple way to check an ink pad is to gently press the surface with the blunt end of a pencil. The small depression should appear damp while the surrounding surface remains relatively dry. If the entire pad appears wet, too much ink has been added. Excess ink can usually be removed by gently blotting with a paper towel.

For customers maintaining several stamps, a bottle of ink provides an economical way to keep your stamp collection performing at its best.

Although Trodat, Colop and Shiny all use water-based ink, each manufacturer formulates its own ink specifically for its pads. Using the correct brand helps maximise pad life and stamp quality.

We recommend:

Using incorrect ink formulations can damage the ink pad and may require replacement sooner than expected.

Eventually every ink pad reaches the end of its service life, at which point a replacement pad is the best solution.
