COLOP Printer Q24 – Self-Inking Square 24mm Stamp

Looking for a self-inking square 24mm stamp? The COLOP Printer Square Rubber Stamp is an unusual little stamp that sits in a very useful spot between the smaller inspection stamps and the larger stamps designed for more information.

Its 24mm × 24mm square format gives you enough room for logos, icons, QR codes, inspection marks, teacher stamps, quality control marks and compact business branding — while keeping the finished stamp small enough to be convenient.

If you have never ordered a custom stamp before, don’t worry. Designing a stamp can sound a little daunting, particularly when you start thinking about imprint sizes, fonts, logos and what will actually fit. That’s where we can help. You tell us what you want your stamp to say or show, and we can help turn that into a stamp design that works.

What is the COLOP Printer Q24?

The COLOP Printer Q24 is a self-inking square rubber stamp from the COLOP Printer Line range.

The stamp has a 24mm × 24mm base plate, with an impression area of approximately 22.8mm × 22.8mm.

That distinction is worth knowing when you are designing artwork. The rubber impression area is slightly smaller than the overall 24mm square body, so your artwork needs to fit within the available impression area.

The Q24 is designed for regular use and has a built-in ink pad, meaning you don’t need a separate stamp pad sitting beside it.

The COLOP Q24 can:

  • Produce a square imprint up to approximately 22.8mm × 22.8mm
  • Accommodate up to 6 lines of text, depending on the design
  • Handle logos, icons and compact custom artwork
  • Be used for full-coverage square designs
  • Be used repeatedly without a separate ink pad
  • Have both the rubber die and ink pad replaced when required

The Q24 is manufactured using durable plastics and is designed to provide a long service life.

Why Choose a Square Stamp?

Most traditional business stamps are rectangular. So why choose a square one?

The answer is largely what you want the stamp to look like and how you want the artwork arranged.

A square stamp gives you a balanced canvas for artwork, symbols and text. But there is another interesting use for square stamps that is sometimes overlooked:

Square stamps are ideal for circular designs

A square self-inking stamp can be used to create a circular impression very effectively.

Many businesses, organisations and individuals want a round stamp because circular marks have a familiar, traditional appearance. They are often used for logos, approval marks, inspection marks, certification-style designs and other official-looking impressions.

The problem is that circular self-inking stamp bodies are not available in every size.

This is where a square stamp such as the COLOP Printer Q24 can be a very practical solution.

The rubber die itself can be designed with a circle within the square impression area. The unused corners simply remain unstamped, leaving a clean circular mark on the paper.

For example, a Q24 can be designed with:

  • A circular company logo
  • A round approval stamp
  • A circular inspection mark
  • A business name around the outside with information in the centre
  • A circular emblem or badge
  • A round “PAID” or “APPROVED” mark
  • A traditional-style seal or certification design

This means you don’t necessarily need to find a round stamp body to achieve a round-looking stamp impression.

The square body also provides a little flexibility around the circular artwork, while keeping the overall stamp compact.

Why else is the square format useful?

Better presentation of logos
Many logos are designed around a square or compact shape. A square stamp can help preserve the proportions of the original artwork.

Ideal for QR codes
QR codes are naturally square, making the Q24 format particularly suitable for compact QR code stamping.

Excellent for circular artwork
A circular logo or emblem can sit neatly inside the square impression area.

Easy placement
A compact square can be convenient when stamping into margins, boxes, forms or designated areas.

More visual impact
Compared with a narrow text-only stamp, a square imprint can create a more noticeable visual mark.

So don’t feel that choosing a square stamp means your design has to be square. The shape of the stamp body and the shape of the artwork are two different things.

If you want a round mark but can’t find a suitable round self-inking stamp in the size you need, the COLOP Printer Q24 can be an excellent alternative.

And if you’re not sure whether your circular design will fit comfortably within the available 22.8mm × 22.8mm impression area, send it to us. We can check the artwork and help you work out the best way to make it into a stamp.

Who uses the COLOP Q24 rubber stamp?

One of the interesting things about the Q24 is just how many different jobs can be given to this small square stamp.

1. Businesses

For businesses, the Q24 can be a handy compact branding and workflow stamp.

Common uses include:

  • Company logos
  • Address stamps
  • Approval stamps
  • Paid stamps
  • Office workflow stamps
  • Internal processing marks
  • Company details
  • Packaging and branding

A square stamp can also make a logo look particularly balanced on paperwork, packaging or other materials.

2. Quality Control & Inspection

The Q24 is particularly well suited to quality control and inspection work.

Examples include:

  • QC PASSED
  • INSPECTED BY
  • APPROVED
  • CHECKED
  • Production control marks
  • Inspector initials
  • Inspection dates

The square format gives you room to combine words, initials, dates and simple inspection symbols without creating a long, narrow imprint.

For someone who needs to stamp the same mark hundreds or thousands of times, having the ink built into the stamp is also considerably more convenient than reaching for a separate stamp pad every time.

3. Teachers

The square format has also made the Q24 popular for teacher and education stamps.

It can be used for designs such as:

  • Well Done
  • Great Work
  • Excellent
  • Merit
  • Star designs
  • Smiley faces
  • Motivational messages

The square imprint works particularly well for circular artwork, stars and other small illustrations.

If you’re designing a teacher stamp, remember that the artwork doesn’t have to fill the entire square. Sometimes a simple design with plenty of white space will produce a much cleaner result.

4. Healthcare Professionals

The compact square format can also be useful for healthcare professionals, clinics and health centres.

Depending on the information required, a Q24 may be suitable for:

  • Professional names
  • Registration numbers
  • Clinic information
  • Internal processing marks
  • Identification marks

The available space is limited, so we recommend keeping the design simple when several pieces of information need to fit into the same stamp.

If you’re not sure whether everything you need will fit, send it to us. We can look at the information and help work out the best way to arrange it.

5. Crafters & Small Businesses

The Q24 is also a useful size for people who want a small but distinctive brand mark.

It can be used for:

  • Packaging stamps
  • Handmade product branding
  • Thank-you stamps
  • Small business logos
  • Social media icons
  • QR codes

The square format is particularly useful for logos and QR codes because the shape of the stamp naturally suits these designs.

Why choose a square stamp?

A square stamp gives you a more balanced canvas for artwork and symbols.

Some advantages of a square stamp include:

Better presentation of logos
Many logos are designed around a square or compact shape. A square stamp can help preserve the proportions of the original artwork.

Suitable for QR codes
QR codes are naturally square, making the Q24 format an interesting option for compact QR code stamping.

Good for circular artwork

A compact square can be convenient when stamping into margins, boxes, forms or designated areas.

More visual impact
Compared with a narrow text-only stamp, a square imprint can create a more noticeable visual mark.

Of course, not every design needs a square stamp. If your artwork is wide and narrow, another stamp size may be more suitable. That’s one of the things we can help you work out before you order.

How big is the COLOP Printer Q24?

The important measurement when ordering a custom Q24 is the 24mm × 24mm stamp size and approximately 22.8mm × 22.8mm available impression area.

The exact external body dimensions of the Q24 are surprisingly difficult to find in published COLOP specifications. Based on product photography, catalogues and comparison with adjacent Printer Line models, the external body is approximately:

  • Width: 38–40mm
  • Depth: 34–36mm
  • Height: 80–84mm

These external measurements are approximate. For designing your stamp, the 22.8mm × 22.8mm impression area is the measurement that matters most.

What ink colours are available?

The standard self-inking pad colours include:

  • Black
  • Blue
  • Red
  • Dry — for use with other suitable ink types

If you’re replacing an existing pad, we recommend using the appropriate ink for the job and, where possible, keeping to the same brand and type of ink.

Replacement Ink Pad – COLOP E/Q24

Eventually, the ink pad in any self-inking stamp will need attention.

The replacement pad designation for the Q24 is:

COLOP E/Q24

It is compatible with:

  • COLOP Printer Q24
  • COLOP Printer Q24 Dater

You don’t necessarily need to throw away the whole stamp when the ink runs out. The ink pad can be replaced.

Find the COLOP E/Q24 replacement ink pad and related products on our website.

Replace the Rubber Die Instead of the Whole Stamp

Here’s something that many people don’t realise about self-inking stamps.

The rubber die can be replaced.

If your business details change, you get a new logo, or you simply need a different stamp impression, you don’t always need to replace the entire stamp body.

The existing Q24 body can be reused with a new rubber die.

That means you can keep a perfectly good stamp mechanism in service rather than throwing the whole thing away.

Order a replacement 24 × 24mm rubber die for the COLOP Printer Q24.

There are therefore two replaceable parts to be aware of:

  1. The rubber die
  2. The ink pad

If you need both, we also offer a combination option.

Find the Q24 rubber die and ink pad combination.

How many impressions will the ink pad make?

This is one of those questions where there isn’t a single magic number.

Think of a self-inking stamp somewhat like an inkjet printer cartridge. The amount of ink used depends on how much ink is being put onto the paper with each impression.

A simple text stamp may use considerably less ink per impression than a solid logo or a design where almost the entire 22.8mm × 22.8mm area is covered.

As a general guide, you should expect over 1,000 impressions from a pad, although actual results will vary depending on the design and how heavily it is inked.

When the impression begins to look lighter, you have two options.

You can:

  • Add a few drops of suitable stamp ink to the pad, or
  • Replace the ink pad.

We recommend using the same brand and suitable ink type for your self-inking stamp rather than mixing different inks.

See COLOP Premium 801 ink on our website.

How do you change the Q24 ink pad?

Changing the ink pad is a straightforward job and follows the familiar process used with many COLOP Printer Line self-inking stamps.

Step 1 – Press the stamp down

Press the stamp down slightly to expose the locking mechanism.

Step 2 – Engage the locks

Press or engage the locking buttons on both sides of the stamp.

Step 3 – Keep the stamp partially compressed

The locking mechanism holds the stamp in its partially compressed position.

Step 4 – Remove the old pad

Slide the ink pad out through the appropriate opening.

Step 5 – Insert the new E/Q24 pad

Slide the replacement COLOP E/Q24 pad into position.

Step 6 – Release the locks

Release the locking mechanism and allow the stamp to return to its normal position.

Your stamp is ready to use again.

Need Help Designing Your Q24 Stamp?

This is often the part people worry about most.

What will fit? Will my logo be clear? How small can the text be? Should I have a border? Will my QR code actually work?

These are all sensible questions.

As custom stamp makers, we design stamps every day and understand that the artwork you have on your computer or phone doesn’t always translate directly into a good rubber stamp.

A design that looks great on a screen may be too detailed, too small or too fine when converted into a rubber stamp.

That’s why you don’t need to be a stamp designer to order a stamp from us.

Simply tell us what you want your stamp to say or show.

You can send us:

  • Your logo
  • Your existing artwork
  • The wording you need
  • A rough idea of the layout
  • A photo of an old stamp
  • Or simply explain what you’re trying to achieve

We’ll help you work out the rest.

We can create the stamp artwork and show you what the finished impression is expected to look like on paper before you commit to the design.

A Small Square Stamp That Can Do a Lot

The COLOP Printer Q24 is a compact stamp, but its square 24mm format makes it surprisingly versatile.

From business logos and packaging to quality control marks, teacher stamps, inspection marks and QR codes, it offers a useful amount of space without moving into the larger stamp sizes.

And perhaps most importantly, you don’t have to figure everything out by yourself.

If you’re unsure whether the Q24 is the right self-inking square 24mm stamp for your requirements, send us your information or artwork. We’ll help you work through the options and create a stamp that is practical, clear and suitable for the job.

Absolutely love my custom name stamp! I ordered a stamp for my daughter, Kiara, to make labelling her clothes and belongings easier, and I am so happy with how it turned out. The ordering process was really straightforward, and I appreciated being sent a proof before manufacture so I could check exactly how the stamp would look. The communication from Self-Inking Stamps was friendly, clear and helpful, and my order was processed quickly. The finished stamp looks even better on the clothing than I expected. The KIARA print is clean, simple, easy to read and looks really professional. I especially love that the design is simple enough that it should still look great as she gets older, rather than being something that only suits a baby or young child. The stamp is also so convenient compared with having to write her name on everything by hand. It makes labelling clothes quick and easy, which is exactly what I was looking for. I am really happy with the quality, service and overall experience. I would definitely recommend Self-Inking Stamps to anyone wanting a simple, practical and professional custom name stamp for families. Thank you for making the whole process so easy!
