What if the bottle has not got a paint finish. Just stainless steel. If that steel is not coated and is bare steel we do have another option. The surface has to be cleaned. Then a ceramic paint spray can be applied. Once dry the laser can heat that paint and turn it black in the process and bake it to the steel. Your image or words then are the black colour. The rest of the paint which is not treated by the laser is then washed off the surface leaving the image to be seen on the surface of the stainless steel. As a paint this will wear off over time. As you can see by the steps involved and the expensive paint this does cost more than simple rotary engraving. The process can take a few days to complete.

Images can be engraved in just one place, on opposite sides or a full wrap. It can be a stripe up the side. Or on a diagonal. Or a logo and text like a name of each employee.

How much detail can be laser engraved?

The laser engraving process can engrave at up to 1,000dpi when required for very fine detail. This can achieve stunning small detail with fonts as small as 4 point in size in glass. It is really hard to read with the naked eye and for vision impaired people you will need your glasses on and/or a magnifying glass to read text this small. Don’t go small. Nice and bold is better. However remember that the smaller the detail the harder it is to see. Bolder designs have a greater effect. When considering what you want to engrave do think about the two colours achieved. The current paint colour and the colour of the stainless steel behind the paint that will be exposed as your image. For items that are white much bolder lettering or image is required otherwise it is hard to see. This is a not process that adds colour. Just removes the paint in fine detail.

Can you engrave all the way around an object?

Yes. But not near the handle if it has one. With the rotary unit the item to be engraved can be fully rotated 360 degrees. This will allow engraving on opposite sides as well. The price increases the further you go around the item. For height the price does not change much. Going around the handle further costs more.

If the item is the same image on multiple items the set up time is able to be spread out over the number required and lowers the cost per item. One item is expensive by comparison. Two, three or ten items lowers the cost per item. Over a hundred items can make quite a difference to per item cost. We take the number of items and the number images into account when pricing your project up to ensure we can get your cost of production down to the minimum. How long does it take to have custom flask engraving done?

We usually return a pdf sheet to you the next working day to confirm the design of your engraving. That will also have the size of the engraving. And a quote for the work to be done.

For small orders once delivered it can take 1-3 days depending on our work load at the time to engrave. Larger orders will take longer and we can give an indication of that at the time of confirming your order.

Once paid for they can be picked up or shipped back to you.
