Highlighting the versatility of the largest everyday self-inking stamp.

In this blog post we will focus on the largest everyday stamps. Self-Inking Rubber Stamps are quick and efficient at marking documents, promotional materials, products, and packaging. These particular stamps are in the range around 75 x 38mm in size.

largest everyday stamps

There are three stamps in our stock at or near this size from the three leading manufacturers of rubber stamps worldwide. The Trodat 4926 75 x 38mm, the Colop Printer 60 76 x 37mm and the Shiny S830 75 x 38mm. Sometimes a millimetre one way or the other can help with keeping an image or font size legible in your stamp mark.

The large everyday stamps like these are designed for a lot of use. Twenty to fifty uses a day are not a problem for them. These stamps do have robust bodies mainly due to their size. It sounds like they are heavy stamps. They are quite light due to their design and materials used.

They are ergonomically designed for use throughout your day and reduce fatigue. Many users have these models of stamps that are over a decade old and have been using them on a daily basis as part of their toolkit.

What are the uses for a large stamp size like these?

Well, size says it all. That leads to many uses to assist you in your everyday tasks.

Marking packaging with largest everyday stamps

That packaging might be holding your product or a carry bag away from your store. Ensuring the correct product gets to your customer is essential. A large clear mark can help with product identification. Likewise, that clear mark giving your brand exposure and the contact details will help further future sales opportunities.

large stamp fragile

Warning signs.

These are critical moments to quickly be recognised. FRAGILE, GLASS or DO NOT BEND can mean success or failure in particular situations.

Large return address details.

For larger stationery envelops a large stamp mark for your logo, address, contact person, website and social media contacts can all be marked quickly and clearly with just one stamp mark at this size.

Branding

Many logos can have intricate detail. By using a larger model of stamp often all of that detail can be reproduced clearly and quickly with a stamp.

Grid patterns for collecting details.

These large stamp models really shine for use with a grid pattern. Each cell can have words and alongside a blank one for the operator to hand write the required details. These are particularly useful in shipping, inwards goods, medical and legal practices. Combinations of grid patterns and tick boxes are possible in a large self-inking stamp.

Larger amounts of text.

Of particular merit is the large self-inking stamp for marking a lot of repetitive text quickly and clearly every time. One of the greatest uses is for certification. Solicitors and Justice of the peace, many schools and accountants have to certify documents.

This usually involves a lot of very specific wording to be used. Plus, areas to enter detail for the date and place that declaration was made. And most importantly who that person was to make that certification. It must be traceable to that source. A stamp is perfect for this application.

Cost to benefit.

These stamps are large. To go with that size the price matches. It feels like a huge amount of money to pay just for a stamp. That is highly understandable.

Now have a think about the cost per stamp mark. The stamp itself is a one-off buy. At any time, the ink can be topped up or replaced and that extends that investment out further.

Generally, you will get a few thousands marks from a stamp before the ink needs to be replaced or topped up.

Let us make that stamp more expensive than current pricing and say it is going to cost you $100.00.

With the life of the first ink pad, we can be conservative and say 2,500 stamp marks.

The cost for those first stamp marks is $0.04. Yes, only four cents.

By this time, the stamp for which itself is paid. Any further use is only the cost of the ink pad to be spread over the next 2,500 imprints. A pad will cost around $20.00.

The maths leads to $0.008. Yes, under a cent to do your work for you.

How could that be an advantage to you?

  • Replace the use of a sticker.
  • Replace handwritten instructions.
  • Advertising your business and products.
  • Create leads for your business.
  • Reduce mistakes
  • Increase quality control.

We can compare with a sticker. These would be purchased in bulk to compete on a cost basis. Would you use all of those stickers? Do you have space to store them until use?

Can you buy stickers for $0.04 per sticker for the first 2,500 stickers?

And the next 2,500 stickers for less than a cent?

Labour cost comparison for largest everyday stamps?

Above established a cost of four cents per mark. How long would it take someone to do some work like drawing a logo perfectly every time, writing some words legibly, handwriting a warning or ensuring all questions for a medical questionnaire are answered correctly.

As a rubber stamp is so easy to use anyone could use them and get the same result a proficient user could do. We can use the lowest labour cost as a comparison.

Currently the minimum wage in New Zealand in early 2025 is $23.15.

That works out at around $0.38 per minute.

A minute is a long time. A stamp used carefully and considerately could be used conservatively six or more times.

If you or your team are paid at or more than the minimum wage, then a stamp is THE most cost-effective use of their time for a repetitive task a stamp could achieve.

That expensive sounding stamp is actually very cheap.

A custom made self-inking stamp has a huge return on investment over its lifetime.

largest everyday stamp colours

Ink colours.

The standard ink pad for these stamps is water-based ink. All of the brands have Black, Blue and Red in stock. Others also have Green and Violet. All are at the same price.

Should you require something different we have a range of Trodat inks in another eleven colours. These custom modifications can also be created in your stamp.

The standard water-based ink is suitable for porous surfaces like paper, carboard, skin and wood.

If you have a coated plastic or painted surface a change to solvent based ink will be required. Please enquire should this be your stamping situation and we can help you.

Self-inking stamps are clean and easy to use. The ink pad is contained internally in the body keeping it away from you accidently coming in contact with the ink.

When the ink pad runs out of ink the pad can easily be replaced. To do this lock the stamp in the pad removal position. Use your thumb and index finger on each side of the pad and slide it out of the body. Then slide the replacement pad back in. Unlock the stamp and away you go with a good strong ink mark again.

By the way, the ink pad can also be topped up with a few drops of ink at any time if it is very important to keep a strong mark appearance on your work. This method is far more economical in higher use situations than replacing the ink pads regularly. At some time, the pad will need to be replaced.

Update, change or refurbish your stamp.

Another feature of this style of stamp is that at any time the mark it makes can be replaced. Every day something changes. A different market, a law changes, you move address and all of a sudden, your stamp is not appropriate anymore.

Do not throw it away!

The rubber die inside that stamp is replaceable. We can create the new image required and send that to you so that you can update your stamp and get a new life from it. Also, you are recycling a high-quality instrument and reducing the waste stream.

Whether you are looking to streamline your office tasks or add a personal touch to your projects, this stamp size is an excellent choice. The 75x38mm self-inking stamp is a versatile and practical tool for various applications, from office use to personal crafting. With multiple ink options, quick ordering times, and reputable brands available, it is a valuable addition to any toolkit.
