The phone rings.
Hello, Self-Inking stamps you are speaking to Trent.
Hello, do you make Ukulele stamps?
Every now and then we get an unusual request. This time we could say yes, we have made these before. And yes, we have made Guitar stamps before too. What was required was a chord chart to stamp on paper.
These would show finger positions for different chords for people to follow. Our client had enquired all over the place including music stores. He had asked them “do you have any Ukulele stamps?” (and they had no idea what he was talking about)…
After some discussion about what we had, we sent a proof sheet through with a few designs. Including different stamp sizes to view and see if the customer liked them. Below is one of the rubber stamp designs.
Having perused the ukulele stamp layout the customer sent to us, we explained we can make the design to a size being 23 x 13mm. Adding to the top the letters G, C, E, and A. We created the design, matched that to the nearest stamp body size it would fit in and chose the lower cost brand for him to consider.
The rubber stamp design proof was sent by email to see if any changes were required and to approve. When the pdf file is sent by email, the customer can preview the stamp design is to the exact size. This way the customer can check and be sure the size will be perfect.
Self-Inking Stamps stock two brands of stamps. The difference between the two brands is not a lot.
Trodat is the world #1 rubber stamp maker. They are made in Austria. It is a high-quality brand. You pay for brand a bit here. They are carbon neutral for most of the rubber stamp products.
They might be described as sexier looking. Also, five body colours are available for this size model. We find Trodat rubber/ink combo can do finer details.
Shiny is the world #3 rubber stamp maker. Yep it is made in Taiwan and costs less.
It is a high-quality brand. We find the Shiny ink, Trodat soft compound rubber combination is much better at broad areas of ink to reduce the mottling effect when stamping.
Both brands we use the Trodat rubber in when laser engraving your image.
Our client chose the Shiny S1823 stamp for his two stamps to use. Great that qualified the purchase for the 10% discount for two Self-Inking Stamps purchased at one time.
