Custom Wood Engraving is a terrific medium for laser engraving.

As laser engraving with a CO2 laser like ours is essentially burning things wood is a great material to engrave. Also with slowing the machine down it changes from an engraving to cut so deep that a single pass can cut right through wood. We regularly laser engrave wood and laser cut wood of varying thicknesses. 3mm thick plywood and MDF wood is particularly suited to engraving and cutting via laser.

The best image for laser engraving is a single colour RGB vector image. This will ensure smooth corners and no pixelation in your engraving.

Shading reduces engraving quality. Colour images are converted to black and white which may radically change the look of your image. If you envisage black and white line art these are the best images for laser engraving onto wood.

Text is a perfect image to engrave on wood. Larger bolder text types show up better. Fine filigree styles of test can be difficult to see for the thin sides of letters. The larger the font size the better for this style of font.

How long does it take to get my Custom Wood Engraving?

Generally this takes 3 days to a week to produce. This can vary depending on our workload and you supplying all the information we need. Each time there is a back and forth this adds a day. Also if material is in stock or has to be ordered in this can vary the timeline.

We generally receive the information required on your engraving. The next day you get our reply with a working proof to check and the quote. Once we receive your acceptance it goes into the work queue to be processed. Payment is requested. Once completed and payment received it is on the next courier pick up. Courier is generally next working day for all the urban areas. Rural delivery allow a little extra time.
